Sunday Morning Quarterback has his obligatory assessment of LSU up
SMQ does his usual outstanding work on his preseason assessment of LSU. Synopsis: It's all about the (unproven) QB, baby.
This billboard is erected in Temple, Texas, home of 2010 uber-recruit Lache Seastrunk, running back. He could be the #1 player in the country in 2010, and right now he supposedly really likes LSU.
While everyone recalls the baseball that hit Landry in the face, many fans may not know what happened to the ball being used during the final out Monday. First baseman Buzzy Haydel caught a throw from pitcher Anthony Ranaudo for the last out in the ninth.
As soon as he caught the ball, Haydel put it in his back pocket. Haydel has plans for that baseball, the last one used in a game at Alex Box Stadium.
"That baseball belongs in LSU's Hall of Fame," said Haydel before Wednesday's practice. "I am bringing it to (LSU Athletics Director) Skip (Bertman) tomorrow. There was no question if I was in there and got the last out, I was keeping the baseball."

You can tell ESPN what you think of them switching the game. Personally, I think it was the right call. I mean, I love LSU, but I think you have to realize ESPN had to make a choice between a rout and a close game. They chose the close game, same as you would have if you weren't an LSU loyalist.
